The current economic crisis presents us with an unprecedented opportunity to improve the quality of justice in Hawai‘i by reinvesting those correctional dollars into communities that are most impacted by incarceration. By implementing alternatives to incarceration we can reduce the prison population, enhance community safety, and improve the quality of justice in Hawai‘i.
